Time to go DEEPER! But there's a problem.. First you need to get materials up to iron. Then you need to go deeper with an iron pick. Then it's all up to lady luck, cause you need to find... wait for it.... DIAMONDS!!!

There are multiple ways to get diamonds. Easiest is to find a Desert temple, the easier out of the two temples, the other being Jungle temple. However the trap is a significant 128% more deadly at the desert temple.

But, back to diamonds, you can find them hidden inside chests underneath the temple. First, you must dig straight down, contrary to the code of minecraft. However, do NOT, I repeate do NOT dig straight down in the middle of the temple. You WILL die, you WILL explode. The best thing to do is either dig straight down exactly 3 blocks away from the blue dot in the center, then you can either staircase down or dig straight down. Once you reach the bottom place a torch, so no mobs go and blow the joint, next dissarm the pressure plate. You can mine the block beneath the pressure plate, thus dissarming the trap. There were 9 blocks of tnt under the plate and had you messed up the whole thing would have blown, including you and the loot. Not always do the chests contain diamonds, sometimes it's emeralds, and it's often iron, gold, bones, and rotten flesh. Sometimes they will have between 1-4 diamonds. For the nether portal we just need 1 diamond pickaxe.

Another way to get diamonds, other than looting temples and underground structures, you could always be a bad sameritan and steal from the hapless villager's chests. But Rexy's friends won't like you much

However, the simplest way is to just go underground with your iron pick and search. You can begin your search as close to bedrock as you can. between layers 20 and 9 of the world (you can find your layer by pressing f3 and checking your Y coordinate, or your layer/elevation) You can make your own mineshaft, as I tend to prefer, or you could go into a deep cave or ravine. However beware. Lava. Mobs. Be smart. Have torches, and wepons. Once you see one cyan speckled stone you are garunteed at least 3 diamonds. Then don't risk a back journey! Your on Pirate.wife . Use /home .

Next you need a flint and steel. Which is simple, really, all you need is an iron ingot (there IS no steel in minecraft) and a block of gravel. To get a flint you can just place your gravel and mine it over and over until it drops a flint, not gravel.

Once you have a diamond pickaxe, grab a bucket, get some water, and look for a pool of lava. There are a few not too far from the spawn point at pirate.wife aboveground, but they are more common underground. Again, try commands. /back will take you back to where you were when you got the diamonds. You shouldn't bring your pick with you, unless you have a spare. Once you find a lava pool dump water NEXT to it and the water will flood it and the lava will become obsidian. Then take out your pick and start mining away. About 20 seconds per block, it may take some time. You need either 10 or 14 blocks of the stuff. 14 looks better, but 10 allows for more creativity than the generic portal, plus it's economical. NOTE- DO NOT DIG STRAIGHT DOWN! BACK TO BASIC MINECRAFT. YOU WILL BURN IN LAVA. THE OBSIDIAN IS ONLY 1 BLOCK THICK. Be careful.

Now you have your obsidian? Good. Time for the fun part. First another word of warning. You need a flint and steel to activate the portal. Even though it's activated with the firestarter the portal is NOT flamable. However if you put the portal in your house, you'r still inviting the natives into your house. Zombie pigmen occasionally spawn near portals, and if a Wither Skeleton, Magma Cube, or even worse the HIGHLY flamable Blaze and Ghast sneak up behind you when your in the portal they can follow you home. and ruin your house, or yourself.Okay, NOW to the fun part. Take your obsidian. If you have 14 pieces of obsidian then take 4, place them in a line on the surface you want your portal then stack 4 more pieces on top of each edge block of the line you just made. Then take the last two obsidian blocks you have and fill the gap at the top between the two obsidian pillars. Then light the inside on fire with a flint and steel. If you do it correctly then it should look like this.
Nether Portal.png
Left: all 14 blocks Right: only 10

If you used only ten you can fill the corners with ANY block you like. Netherrak, moss stone, end stone, diamond blocks, DIRT. Whatever! Now you have yourself a nether portal! The one of the nether side automatically generates. Make one portal get one free, right?
