BasicsFirst, your going to need two pieces of wheat. Please refer to Farming, for further information on getting wheat. Next you will need animals. You need wheat to breed only cows and sheep. Once you find at least two animals, show them the wheat and the will follow you. This is how you herd animals. You can use this to get them into a pen, or hole or whatever you want them in. Then you need to right click both animals with one piece of wheat each, and then it's on. Almost immediately, you get a baby animal.
Now for other animals this works alot differently. Wolves/DogsYou will need 2 dogs, (they don't have to be trained) and two pieces of meat. The wolves will not follow you as the other animals do, but they will get into the same lovey state as the others when right clicked with meat. Any meat will do, chicken, beef, porkchops, even rotten flesh! Eww! Anyways, it's a good use of bad food. Rotten zombie flesh + wolves = puppies!
Occelots/CatsTo set the mood for your favorite felines you better have some fish. Don't cook it either, those cats are super finiky. If your fortuanate enough for two cats, then it's smooth sailing from
there. Do the same thing as you would with the others one fish for each cat, and they start babymaking away. You can also do it with occelots and make occekitties, but it is WAY harder, and not worth it. Kitten fight!!
ChickensAs of 1.4 chickens can be breed with wheat seeds. It's an excellent use of extra seeds. You use the seed like all the other methods, by right clicking over the animals you want to breed with the two seeds in hand. However there is a funner, and faster way of multiplying your chickens: eggs. Chickens lay eggs every 5 minutes and, 1 out of 4 times, when thrown, spawn a baby chicken. You throw by right clicking while holding an egg. You only need one chicken to get an egg, and once you have a few chickens there aint no stopping you.
PigsYou can be bred exactly like the others, except instead of wheat, seeds, fish, or meat, you use the new carrot item. You know the drill by know, take two carrots and two pigs and right click each pig with one carrot, and they will reward you with a...
